Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using foodchaine ("the Service"), operated by Baaha, Inc., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Availability

foodchaine is operated as a live service. Features may change over time, and occasional interruptions can occur. You can download a copy of your data from the app at any time, and you can delete your account and everything in it whenever you choose (see Section 11).

3. Description of Service

foodchaine is a personal nutrition tracking tool that allows you to log food, beverages, and weight data using natural language, in the iOS app and through AI assistants you connect to it. The Service uses AI to estimate nutritional content based on your descriptions.

4. Not a Medical Service

foodchaine is not a medical device, healthcare provider, or licensed nutrition service. The Service is intended for general wellness and informational purposes only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutritional estimates are AI-generated approximations and may be inaccurate.

No doctor-patient, dietitian-client, or other healthcare provider relationship is created by your use of the Service. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making dietary decisions, especially if you have allergies, medical conditions, or are taking medication.

5. Accuracy Disclaimer

Nutritional data provided by foodchaine is estimated using AI and may not be accurate. Calorie counts, macro breakdowns, and micronutrient values are approximations. You should not rely on this data for medical, clinical, or therapeutic purposes. The Service is not suitable for managing eating disorders, diabetes, or other conditions that require precise nutritional monitoring.

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage or impair the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use foodchaine.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

7.5. AI Assistant Connections

When you connect foodchaine to an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, or another supported assistant), you authorize that assistant to call foodchaine's tools on your behalf. This includes reading your nutrition history, logging new entries, updating your profile, and retrieving advice foodchaine has previously stored.

You are responsible for actions taken by an AI assistant on your behalf while connected. AI assistants are third-party services with their own terms; we do not control their behavior. If an assistant produces results that don't match your intent, you may correct them through the assistant or by editing entries directly in the iOS app, and you may disconnect any assistant at any time by removing foodchaine from that assistant's connector settings.

7.6. Subscriptions

The iOS app offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. The price and the length of each billing period are shown in the app before you subscribe, and payment is charged to your Apple Account when the purchase is confirmed.

Where a free trial is offered, the trial converts to a paid subscription at the price shown unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period is not refunded. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policies.

Your use of the iOS app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Baaha, Inc. and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation, any damages resulting from dietary decisions made based on information provided by the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your data at any time.
